Privacy Policy

Working draft. This policy is still under review and may change before it becomes final. Please do not treat it as our final legal terms yet. If you have questions in the meantime, reach out using the contact below.

Welcome home. When you add your name, you are trusting us with a little bit of your information, and we take that seriously. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The short version is simple. We use your information to stay in touch and to help organize this movement. We do not sell it. And you can step back or reach out to us at any time.

What we collect

First and last name
So we can greet you like a neighbor and not a number, and keep our records straight.
Email address
This is our main way to reach you with updates, invitations, and news about the movement.
Zip code
So we can understand where people are and connect you with what is happening near you.
Mobile phone number (optional)
Only if you choose to give it. We use it to send text messages, and only if you opted in. You never have to provide it.
Survey responses (optional)
If you choose to tell us why you feel politically without a home, your answers help us understand the people we serve. Sharing this is always up to you.

How we use your information

We use your information to stay in touch and to organize. That means sending you updates, inviting you to things, and coordinating the work of the movement so that your voice is part of it.

If you gave us your mobile number and opted in, we may send you text messages. We only text people who chose to receive texts. Standard message and data rates from your phone carrier may apply.

If you shared survey responses, we use them to understand the people who feel the way you do and to shape how we speak and what we do. We handle those answers with care.

We do not sell your information

We do not sell your information. Not your name, not your email, not your phone number, not your survey answers. That is a firm line for us.

We may rely on trusted service providers to help us do the everyday work of reaching you, such as sending email or text messages. When we do, they act on our behalf and may only use your information to provide that service to us. We may also share information if the law requires it. Beyond that, your information stays with us.

Your choices

You are always in control. If you no longer want our emails, you can click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send, or contact us and ask to be removed.

If you opted in to text messages and want them to stop, reply STOP to any text and we will stop texting you. You can opt back in later if you change your mind.

If you would like to see, correct, or delete the information we have about you, just reach out using the contact information below and we will help. Stepping back from a list does not close the door. The porch light stays on if you ever want to come back.

Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us and to keep it out of the wrong hands. We only hold on to it as long as we need it to stay in touch and do the work of the movement.

Changes to this policy

This is an early draft, and we expect to refine it. If we make meaningful changes, we will update this page. We encourage you to check back now and then so you always know where things stand.
